Kona refers to Typica-descended coffee grown in the Kona district on the western slopes of Mauna Loa and Hualalai on Hawaii's Big Island. The unique terroir of volcanic soil, afternoon cloud cover, and mild temperatures produces a distinctive cup profile. Kona coffee is celebrated for its clean, bright acidity, medium body, and sweet flavor with notes of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and light fruit.
