About
Cowboy coffee is the most elemental brewing method: coarsely ground coffee is added directly to a pot of boiling water, steeped, and the grounds are allowed to settle before pouring. Originating from the American frontier tradition, it requires no specialized equipment beyond a heat source and a pot. When brewed carefully with a brief boil and patient settling time, cowboy coffee can produce a surprisingly full and sweet cup with robust character.
