Genetic studies have identified it as a distinct population within Ethiopia's vast landrace diversity, and its cups stand out in evaluation for complex jasmine and peach aromatics, a bright citric acidity and a delicate, silky mouthfeel. Yields are low and quality is rated excellent, with cultivation at high elevation between roughly 1,700 and 2,200 metres. Because the variety was characterised only recently, published data on its disease resistance is limited and its profile has not been formally established; it shares the variable traits of other Yirgacheffe-region landraces.
