Coffee Types & Grading

SHG

Strictly High Grown, an altitude-based coffee grade used in Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua for beans cultivated above approximately 1,200 meters. SHG is functionally equivalent to SHB and indicates premium density and quality.

深度解析

The SHG label appears on export contracts to communicate that beans come from the highest elevation tier in their country's grading system. Like SHB, the slow cherry maturation at altitude increases sugar development and acid complexity. Buyers use the SHG designation alongside cupping scores and defect counts to assess lot quality before purchasing.
