Kapeng Barako (literally 'strong man's coffee' in Filipino) is a cultural designation for the traditional Liberica coffee preparation in the Philippines. While genetically overlapping with Barako, the term specifically evokes the strong, full-bodied brew tradition of the Batangas region. Kapeng Barako is characterized by its intensely aromatic, jackfruit-like fragrance, smoky flavor, and thick, syrupy mouthfeel.
