Conilon is the Brazilian name for Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora), primarily cultivated in the state of Espirito Santo, which produces the majority of Brazil's Robusta output. Brazilian researchers have developed improved Conilon clones through selection and breeding programs at INCAPER. Quality-focused Conilon lots processed with care can show surprising chocolate and caramel sweetness, challenging stereotypes about Robusta quality.
