Origins & Terroir

Micro-Lot

A small, carefully separated batch of coffee from a specific section of a farm, processed distinctly to highlight unique characteristics. Micro-lots typically range from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds of green coffee.

Detaylı

Micro-lot separation allows producers to isolate exceptional quality from a particular field, altitude band, or harvest day. These lots are often processed experimentally—extended fermentation, carbonic maceration, or unique drying protocols—to maximize flavor complexity. Buyers pay significant premiums for micro-lots, which are scored individually and sold through direct relationships or specialty importers. The micro-lot model incentivizes quality over volume, providing smallholder farmers a viable path to higher income.
