Rume Sudan is an extremely rare wild Arabica variety collected from the Boma Plateau in what is now South Sudan, one of the few known wild coffee populations outside Ethiopia. It was preserved at the CATIE germplasm collection in Costa Rica and has been planted by a handful of experimental farms. Rume Sudan produces remarkably sweet, complex cups with tropical fruit, brown sugar, and a creamy body.
