Blade Grinder

A coffee grinder that uses a spinning metal blade to chop beans into irregular fragments. Blade grinders are inexpensive but produce an inconsistent particle size that leads to uneven extraction.

Подробнее

Because the blade simply chops rather than crushing between calibrated surfaces, the resulting grounds range from powder-fine to coarse chunks within the same batch. This causes simultaneous over-extraction of fines and under-extraction of boulders, yielding a cup that can taste both bitter and sour. Blade grinders are adequate for pre-ground replacements but are not recommended for specialty coffee preparation where extraction control matters.
