Limu is a historically important coffee region in western Ethiopia's Oromia zone, known for producing balanced, approachable washed coffees. The area receives abundant rainfall and its forests provide natural shade cover for coffee cultivation. Limu coffees are characterized by their medium body, mild acidity, and pleasant spice and citrus notes with hints of dark chocolate. The region was one of the first in Ethiopia to adopt modern wet-processing infrastructure. While less celebrated than Yirgacheffe or Guji in specialty circles, Limu remains a reliable source of clean, well-structured Ethiopian coffee.
