Found primarily in Colombia, its exact genetic origin is debated, with some research suggesting it may be an Ethiopian landrace rather than a true Bourbon mutation. Regardless of lineage, Pink Bourbon has won numerous cupping competitions for its floral aromatics, juicy stone fruit character, and sparkling acidity.

Susceptible to coffee leaf rust and coffee berry disease; no resistance documented regardless of whether lineage is Bourbon or Ethiopian. Managed in Colombia with fungicides and high-altitude cultivation above 1,500 m.
