Excelsa Standard
À propos
Standard Excelsa (Coffea liberica var. dewevrei) is primarily cultivated in Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, the Philippines, and parts of India. The trees grow tall and produce fruit with a distinctive tart, fruity character unlike either Arabica or Robusta. Excelsa beans are often used as a blending component to add complexity, contributing dark berry tartness, a light body, and an unusual combination of light-roast brightness and dark-roast depth.
Résistance aux maladies
Moderate resistance to coffee leaf rust compared to Arabica; Coffea liberica var. dewevrei tolerates some rust races better but is not immune. Limited published data on comprehensive pathogen profiling; managed in Southeast Asian production systems.
