Jinotega is Nicaragua's largest and most important coffee-producing department, often called the 'breadbasket of Nicaraguan coffee.' The department's highlands benefit from Caribbean moisture and volcanic soils, creating conditions that produce coffees of remarkable quality relative to their price point. Jinotega coffees offer a balanced, sweet cup with medium body, mild acidity, and flavors of brown sugar, chocolate, and soft citrus.
