Cup of Excellence
An annual international coffee competition and auction program that identifies and rewards the highest-quality coffees from a participating country. Coffees scoring 87 or above after multiple rounds of blind cupping earn the Cup of Excellence title.

Founded in 1999 by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE), the Cup of Excellence program operates in over a dozen countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. National and international jury panels evaluate hundreds of submissions through successive elimination rounds. Winning coffees are auctioned online to global buyers, with prices often 10–50 times the commodity market rate. The program has become the gold standard for identifying exceptional coffee and has launched the reputations of many now-famous farms.
