About
Batian is a compact, high-yielding variety released by the Coffee Research Institute of Kenya in 2010. Named after the highest peak of Mount Kenya, it was developed to offer resistance to both coffee berry disease and coffee leaf rust while maintaining cup quality close to that of SL28 and SL34. Batian matures early and produces a bright, complex cup with good acidity and body.
