FOB Price
Free On Board price—the cost of green coffee loaded onto a shipping vessel at the port of origin, before international freight and insurance. FOB is the standard pricing point for international coffee trade.

FOB price includes the farm-gate price plus processing, transport to port, export taxes, and loading costs. It excludes ocean freight, insurance, import duties, and warehousing at the destination. In specialty coffee, transparency-focused roasters publish FOB prices to demonstrate how much reaches the producing country versus how much goes to logistics and roasting. A typical specialty coffee FOB price might be $3.00–$8.00/lb, compared to a commodity C-price of $1.50–$2.50/lb. The gap between FOB and retail price illustrates the value chain from origin to cup.
