Omni roast is a modern specialty coffee concept rather than a traditional roast level — a deliberate roast profile designed to perform well across both espresso and filter brewing. Developed as a practical response to cafés that serve single-origin coffee as both espresso and pour-over from the same bag. The roaster targets a development curve that provides enough body and sweetness for espresso while retaining enough acidity and clarity for filter. Typically landing between medium and medium-dark (Agtron 50-60), omni roasting requires precise profiling and is considered one of the most technically demanding approaches.
