Kaffa is the legendary region from which coffee takes its name, and it remains home to some of the last wild Arabica forests on Earth. Located in southwestern Ethiopia, the Kaffa Biosphere Reserve protects an extraordinary reservoir of coffee genetic diversity that scientists consider irreplaceable. Wild-harvested and semi-forest coffees from Kaffa display gentle floral and herbal notes with a rounded body and honey-like sweetness. The region's dense canopy and high humidity create a natural slow-ripening environment for cherries. Kaffa coffee carries profound historical significance as the cradle of the world's most important beverage crop.
