About
Nel drip (flannel drip) uses a reusable cloth filter, typically flannel, stretched over a wire or wooden frame. Popular in Japan and parts of Latin America, this method produces a cup with more body and sweetness than paper-filtered pour-over, as the cloth allows more oils to pass while still catching fines. Nel drip requires careful filter maintenance (rinsing and refrigerating the cloth), rewarding dedicated brewers with a uniquely velvety texture.
