About

The Moka Pot, invented by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, is a stovetop brewer that uses steam pressure to push water upward through a bed of ground coffee. An icon of Italian home coffee culture, the Moka Pot produces a strong, concentrated brew often described as stovetop espresso, though it operates at lower pressure (1-2 bars versus 9 bars). The resulting cup is bold, slightly bitter, and full-bodied, traditionally served in small cups.
