Tentang

Lintong Nihuta is a distinct coffee district on the southwestern shores of Lake Toba in North Sumatra, producing some of the island's cleanest and most refined wet-hulled coffees. The region's higher elevation and proximity to the lake create a cooler microclimate compared to the Mandheling lowlands, resulting in a cleaner, brighter cup. Lintong coffees retain the characteristic Sumatran earthiness and herbal notes but with added clarity, spice complexity, and a lighter body. The predominantly Batak Toba farming communities maintain smallholder plots of one to two hectares, often intercropped with vegetables and fruit trees. Lintong is increasingly recognized by specialty roasters as a more nuanced alternative to generic Sumatran coffee.
