Origins & Terroir
Single Origin
Coffee sourced from one country, region, or specific farm, as opposed to a blend of multiple origins. The term signals traceability and the intention to showcase a place's unique flavor characteristics.
गहराई से
Single-origin labeling ranges from broad (e.g., 'Colombia') to highly specific (e.g., 'Finca El Paraíso, Cauca, Colombia, lot #4'). At the specialty end, single-origin coffees are roasted to highlight terroir rather than create a consistent blend profile, meaning flavor can vary from harvest to harvest. Seasonal availability is a trade-off: unlike blends that can be reformulated year-round, a single-origin lot may only be available for a few months after each harvest cycle.
