Uganda is Africa's largest coffee exporter and one of the few countries where Robusta coffee grows indigenous to the wild. The Robusta heartland lies around the shores of Lake Victoria, while Arabica is cultivated on the slopes of Mount Elgon and the Rwenzori Mountains. Ugandan Robusta is prized for its chocolatey depth and clean cup, while the emerging Arabica sector produces bright, fruity specialty lots.
