Acerca de

Central Valley is Costa Rica's oldest and most historic coffee-producing region, surrounding the capital San José in a broad volcanic plateau. Coffee cultivation here dates back to the early 19th century, making it the birthplace of Costa Rica's coffee industry and national identity. Central Valley coffees offer a classic balanced profile with medium body, mild acidity, and sweet flavors of milk chocolate, almond, and citrus. The region's moderate elevations produce approachable, clean cups that represent the traditional Costa Rican coffee style. Urban expansion has reduced cultivated area in recent decades, but remaining farms maintain high quality through meticulous processing and varietal selection.
