Nyeri is consistently ranked among the world's finest coffee-producing regions, situated on the fertile slopes between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range. The region's deep red volcanic soils, high altitude, and bimodal rainfall pattern create ideal conditions for the legendary SL28 and SL34 varieties. Nyeri coffees are famous for their explosive blackcurrant, grapefruit, and tomato-like acidity with a full, juicy body and sweet berry finish. The Kenya cooperative system, centered around factories (washing stations), ensures meticulous cherry sorting and fermentation control. Nyeri AA and AB lots regularly command the highest prices at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange auction.
